Central Asian Special Forces Trained Operations Under the CBRN-E Conditions

European Union-funded project LEICA (Law Enforcement In Central Asia) organized training for 13 law enforcement officers from special intervention units from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
The training was delivered by the ISEMI experts specialized on CBRN-E (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear – Explosives) threats, former and active service officers of Slovak security forces and fire brigades. The training program is accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic in compliance with the European Union's lifelong learning standards.
Emphasis was also placed on scenarios where CBRN-E materials are weaponized, presenting various challenges to law enforcement agencies, and endangering both personnel and hostages.
The training agenda comprised didactic sessions complemented by practical exercises, simulating real-world conditions with the presence of terrorists, leveraging CBRN agent simulators, advanced detection techniques and using all levels of personal protective equipment, and decontamination procedures while breaching doors, neutralizing and arresting perpetrators and saving victims under CBRN conditions. Upon conclusion, all participants successfully passed dedicated tests and were awarded certificates approved by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
LEICA is managed by the EU Commission, directly and through a Consortium made up of French CIVIPOL and Slovak ISEMI, with the support of INTERPOL.
