Train of Trainers Behavioral Profiling Techniques

EU funded project LEICA continues its activities focused on strengthening capacities of law enforcement agencies to detect and intercept Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF), potential terrorists and dangerous extremists.
On 20-24 June 2022, LEICA, in close co-operation with BOMCA and UNODC, organized a national training of trainers on identification and profiling techniques for participants from law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan. The EUMS experts trained the participants on tactics how to assign people to risk groups during street, border, or immigration controls, observing them, analyzing their behavior, appearance, reaction to questions combined with thorough document verification in order to identify potential terrorists or dangerous radicals.
At the certificate awarding ceremony LEICA Director said:” Our goal is not only to provide practical and operational training, but also to promote cooperation between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia in the fight against terrorism and radicalism. This project has a regional approach by nature, and in this endeavor, we cooperate with all countries of Central Asia “.
There is a series of training courses in Central Asia on identifying suspicious behavior and profiling. This learning cycle will end with the compiling of a practical handbook.
