Training-Seminar to Address Detection of Radicalization

Some 35 Kyrgyz Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice (Prison Service, and Probation Department), State Committee of Religious Affairs, and Security Service participated in a training-seminar that the Project LEICA organized from 17-19 May 2022 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in cooperation with the Department of Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration (Ministry of Internal Affairs). Five experts from European Union Member States and four expert officials from Kyrgyzstan presented their experience in the early detection and identification of signals of extremism and radicalization, both in communities and in internet. The participants who attended the seminar from central departments and from all Kyrgyz regions also discussed the format and contents of a training that MIA officials deployed throughout Kyrgyzstan should receive to facilitate their functions in the prevention and early detection of radicalization and extremism.
