Uzbekistan Developed the National Strategy to Combat Drug Addiction and Drug Crime in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024-2028

In order to effectively implement the state policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of combating illicit drug trafficking, on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan there was developed and approved the “National Strategy to Combat Drug Addiction and Drug Crime in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024-2028”.
The Strategy is aimed at improving the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of drug control and the national system for monitoring the drug situation, ensuring national and public security and protecting the health of citizens.
The Strategy contains the best practices and positive international experience of leading countries in the field of timely and adequate response to the threats of cross-border crime related to drug trafficking, with special emphasis on the following:
✓ formation of “immunity against drugs” among the population;
✓ identification of qualitatively new mechanisms for the prevention of drug addiction and drug crimes;
✓ application of modern methods of work in the fight against drug crimes;
✓ development of a system based on new methods for providing high-quality drug treatment to the population;
✓ further improvement of medical and social rehabilitation of drug addicts;
✓ development of research activities in the field of combating drug addiction and drug crimes.
Preserving and increasing the achieved positive potential in the field of combating drugs, further strengthening the authority of Uzbekistan in the international arena - these are the priority tasks of international cooperation that were laid down and taken into account within the framework of this Strategy.
